No. 10 - Quartet - Gerard, David, Victor, Cedric and Men's Chorus - "That's Done!"

MIDI File

Gerard: Marriage is a thing that makes one nervous,
David: But fear we must suppress,
And never quail before its frightfulness!
Victor: Let's remember all the girls observe us
Cedric: And never let us show
We dread the female foe!
Chorus: The women must not say that we ran away
From all the terrors of the wedding day!
Quartet: Let us all take heart,
Play a manly part!
To the church we will gallantly march on,
Where the curate stands in his hood and bands,
And a surplice with lots of starch on!
Chorus: Just a word or two,
Like "I will!" "I do!"
And you're told that the two are one!
If you're only strong it will not last long,
And you can say, "Anyhow, that's done!"

Gerard: Then there is the awful luncheon after,
David: And when they cut the cake,
The bridegroom has a silly speech to make!
Victor: We will back him up with cheers and laughter,
Cedric: He needn't say a word,
For nothing will be heard!
Chorus: And when with reeling brain
He sits down again,
We'll all be ready with the dry champagne!
Quartet: Let us all take heart,
Play a manly part!
We must end it as we have commenced it!
Tho' it's not quite nice
When it rains raw rice,
We must smile when we're up against it!
Chorus: When the motor hoots
They may throw old boots —
It's the ancient idea of fun;
If you have fair luck you will not get stuck,
And you can say, "Anyhow, that's done!"
