No. 21 - Song - Sam and Chorus - "The Sea-Serpent."

MIDI File

Sam: I've had some frights awake at night
I've had some shocks by day,
I've seen great lots of Hottentots,
I've had an aunt to stay.
Policemen I think tame and shy,
They have no fears for me,
But the thing that makes me all of a shake
is the serpent of the sea!
He gulps, and gasps, and grins, and giggles,
He winks, and roars, and writhes, and wriggles;
See the old sea serpent
Swimming in the sea;
He's a hurrying and a worrying
For jellyfish, sharks and me!
If you don't look out a dead 'un you'll be
Look slippy, he's nippy,
Is the serpent of the sea!
Chorus: See the old sea serpent
Swimming in the sea;
He's a hurrying and a worrying
For jellyfish, sharks and me!
If you don't look out a dead 'un you'll be
Look slippy, he's nippy,
Is the serpent of the sea!

Sam: I'm awf'ly keen about thirteen,
I gambol under ladders —
In any place I'd gladly face
Giraffes, mince-pies or adders,
I've listen'd to an M.P. who
The truth unvarnished spoke,
And I've sat beside, while a Scotchman died
Through having seen a joke!
But oh! the old sea serpent's giggles,
His roars, and writhes, and winks, and wriggles!
See the old sea serpent
Swimming in the sea;
He's a hurrying and a worrying
For jellyfish, sharks and me!
If you don't look out a dead 'un you'll be
Look slippy, he's nippy,
Is the serpent of the sea!
Chorus: See the old sea serpent
Swimming in the sea;
He's a hurrying and a worrying
For jellyfish, sharks and me!
If you don't look out a dead 'un you'll be
Look slippy, he's nippy,
Is the serpent of the sea!
