No. 6 - Octet - Adolfo and Girls - "Hello, People!"

MIDI File

All: Six little girls went on a tour
Run by a daily print,
Six little faces looked demure,
Each of a rosy tint.
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: Two little girls have eyes of brown,
And two have eyes of blue.
Two little girls have eyes of grey,
And two have eyes on you!
Girls: One little girl disliked the sea,
And prior to crossing over,
Looked at the ocean in commotion,
Then she stayed in Dover!
One little girl when safe in France
At once began to rally,
Clung to the fond arm of a gendarme,
She was left in Calais!
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: They were a lovely lot of girls,
These girls from London town,
Each one was dressed just like the rest
In just a simple little gown;
Girls: They didn't mind much where they went,
Yet each was bent and quite intent
On dreaming of this little text:
"Where shall we go to next?"

All: Four little girls jump'd on a train,
En route to Germany;
Thought that the Emperor might deign
To ask them round to tea.
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: Two little girls are just eighteen,
And two have not been traced.
Two little girls are seventeen,
That is around the waist!
Girls: One little girlie's fringe-net broke,
That kept each golden curl in,
Wind now posesses her new tresses.
She is still in Berlin!
One little girl was full of thoughts
Of home and golf and tennis;
Stepped in the water, no one caught her,
Her address is Venice!
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: They were a lovely lot of girls,
These girls from London town,
Each one was dressed just like the rest
In just a simple little gown;
Girls: They didn't mind much where they went,
Yet each was bent and quite intent
On dreaming of this little text:
"Where shall we go to next?"

All: Two little girls to Turkey raced;
Those two were wide awake.
Both were determined not to taste
Or touch sultana cake.
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: Two little girls wear six in gloves,
Though these take time to fix.
Four little girls wear just the same
So six little girls wear six!
Girls: One little girl was asked to wed
A man with rings of opal,
Passive resister left her sister
In Constantinople!
One little girl smoked one cigar,
But nervous was her manner;
Earth spinning round her, someone found her
Settled in Havana!
Hello, people! People, hello!
Adolfo: They were a lovely lot of girls,
These girls from London town,
Each one was dressed just like the rest
In just a simple little gown;
Girls: They didn't mind much where they went,
Yet each was bent and quite intent
On dreaming of this little text:
"Where shall we go to next?"
