MIDI File

Mickey: Ye sarve a man for sivin years
and follow him about,
One day ye take too many beers
An' then "Ye're drunk! Get out!"
Ye dress yer Captain up for mess,
An' mix his stingo bowl,
Tell lies for him ye can't confess
Enough to lose yer soul.
Chorus: Enough to lose yer soul.
Mickey: Ye shut the dure upon the duns,
An' let the ladies in;
Ye know which knocks more times than once,
An' that's a deadly sin.
Ye pick him up when he's upset,
Advise him when in doubt,
An' some fine day, here's what ye get,
"Ye're dhrunk, me man; get out!"
Och! me father was born in Ballinasloe
An' me mother was one o' the Sheridans,
An' this was the lesson they taught me to know,
That a sarvice is not an inheritance.
Chorus: Och! his father was born in Ballinasloe
An' his mother was one o' the Sheridans,
An' this was the message they taught him to know,
That a sarvice is not an inheritance.

Mickey: So bein' as he tuk me short
In that unpleasant way,
An' he just goin' out to court
This happen'd yesterday.
I waited till he went to bed,
Then chose his soundest nag,
I saddled up and rode ahead
With this small leather bag.
Chorus: With this small leather bag.
Mickey: An' when he's sworn deaf dumb and blind,
I'll come to his relief;
I'll tell him I was close behind
An' tuk it from the thief.
Faix then there'll be another shout,
When Mickey drinks too deep,
It will not be "Ye're drunk, get out,"
But "Go to bed and sleep."
Och! me father was born in Ballinasloe
An' me mother was one o' the Sheridans,
An' I think they'll agree that I've managed it so,
That my sarvice will be an inheritance.
Chorus: Och! his father was born in Ballinasloe
An' his mother was one o' the Sheridans,
An' I think we'll agree that he's managed it so,
That his sarvice will be an inheritance.
