The Savoy Singers were formed in 1969. They did Gilbert & Sullivan on an annual basis until 1992 when it was decided to expand to the works of other composers. Among their non-G&S credits are Merrie England. In 1992 they won the NODA Southern Area Accolade of excellence for their Gondoliers. In 1997 they won the NODA Southern Area Accolade for their HMS Pinafore.
The Society celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1994 with a sell out Production of The Pirates of Penzance which they later performed in their twin town of Bietigheim in Germany.
