  • Princess Ida from South Anglia Savoy Players

    Director: Derek Collins
    Musical Director: Brian Brown

The group opened the First International Festrival in Buxton in 1994 setting a wonderful standard with 'Pirates' which took third prize overall. They achieved another two significant firsts in 1996 - the first British group to play in the American leg of the Festival and the first British group to win the coveted International Trophy.

The Festival Club with Cabaret by South Anglia

In a departure from this year's cabarets which have mainly consisted of sung party pieces South Anglia treated us to an imaginative and hilarious spoof on Trial by Jury and The Merry Widow called 'Trial by Committee'. Complete with a string of jilted leading ladies, an over-amorous leading man, golf-playing chairman and NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) representative it rounded off the evening in splendid style.

    I will marry her myself!
