Bolton started off their cabaret with 'Hail Poetry' and 'The Judge's Song' - this must be the first time at the Festival that we have seen these numbers sung with books. Their Musical Director then explained at length that he did not like some G&S to the horror of the Savoynetters' table! This was followed by a selection of popular numbers from musicals performed by members of the group, some items of which we had heard at previous club nights.
We had the distinct impression that G&S was not normally performed by this group.
The Judge's Song from Trial by Jury Pish Tush singing the Judge's part backed by the full chorus. |
