"Mr. W.S. Gilbert." to The Daily News, 11 April 1888, p. 6.

TO THE EDIITOR OF THE DAILY NEWS.

SIR, - Permit me to contradict a statement which recently appeared in the Daily News to the effect that I am about to play ‘Pygmalion’ at Liverpool, for Mrs. Saker’s benefit.  I am a sufficiently good actor to know what a very bad actor I am. –

Faithfully yours,

W.S. GILBERT

London, April 10.
