No. 24: SOLOS

"Perceive Ye How"

MIDI Symbol

A Pharisee (Bass Solo).
Perceive ye how we prevail nothing,
Behold the world is gone after him,
If we let him thus alone all men will believe on him,
And the Romans will come and take away both our
    place and nation.
It is expedient for us that one man should die for the
    people
And that the whole nation perish not.

A Disciple (Tenor Solo).
Master, get thee out and depart hence,
For the chief priests and scribes seek to lay hands on
    thee,
That they may deliver thee unto the pow'r and authority
    of the Governor.

Baritone Solo.
I must walk today and tomorrow, and the day following.
For it cannot be that a Prophet perish out of Jerusalem,
Behold we go up to Jerusalem,
And all things that are written by the prophets
concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished.
