The Absent-Minded Beggar March

Originally published by Enoch & Sons in 1899.

Music cover

This march draws on material from Sullivan's song The Absent-Minded Beggar, but its trio section develops the material in a way not found in the song.

It was published for piano and in arrangements for brass and military bands. According to Arthur Jacobs, it was given its first performance in its brass band arrangement at the Crystal Palace on 21 July 1900.
