Arthur Argent (1919-21)

Arthur Stanley Argent toured with the D’Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company for its first two seasons, from September 1, 1919, through May 21, 1921, performing the principal baritone roles of the Earl of Mountararat in Iolanthe, the Mikado of Japan in The Mikado, Sergeant Meryll in The Yeomen of the Guard, and Giuseppe in The Gondoliers.

His only appearance in a named part on the London Stage was as Morales in the musical play The Bamboula, at His Majesty’s Theatre, March-May 1925. He also had one film appearance in We Dine at Seven (1931).

Arthur Argent was married to Ethel Hook, a contralto singer and the sister of Dame Clara Butt.
