THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Elsie Arnold (1924-25)

Elsie Arnold joined the D’Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company chorus in November 1924 and left the Company in September 1925. During this time her only named part was Chloe in Princess Ida.

Before joining the D’Oyly Carte organization she had made a few appearances in London shows between 1920 and 1924. These included Chu Chin Chow at His Majesty’s and J. M. Barrie’s Alice Sit-by-the-Fire. After her stint with D’Oyly Carte, she appears to have continued her career on the road, touring in the musical Darling. I Love You in 1930.
