THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Frederick Bickersteth (1879-80, 1885)

[Born Liverpool 6 Jul 1846, died Notting Hill, London 28 Feb 1901]

Frederick Langdale Bickersteth was a chorister who filled in on occasion as Bill Bobstay during the first run of H.M.S. Pinafore at the Opera Comique. He appears to have returned to the D'Oyly Carte chorus in 1885 at the Savoy, as his name appears in the Savoy stage manager's prompt book for The Mikado.
