William Paul Bown (1880)

William Paul Bown played the Sergeant of Police with D'Oyly Carte's Fourth American Pirates of Penzance Company, in Buffalo and Cincinnati from February 21 to 28, 1880. When the Company reached Chicago on March 1 the role was assumed by George Reynolds.

Bown's acting career included named parts in two musical works in his native New York: Rocco in La Mascotte (Bijou Opera House, 1881), and Corney Kelly in a short-lived comedy called Donnybrook! (Miner's People's Theatre, 1886).
