Maude Cathcart (1883)

The daughter of actor Rowley Cathcart, Georgina Maud Cathcart made her theatrical debut at the Royal Court Theatre in March 1878 as Polly Flamborough in W. G. Wills's play Olivia.She later worked at the Court in A Quiet Rubber and A Scrap of Paper (1878-79), and at the St. James's in T. W. Robertson's Home (1881).

She appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy, where she succeeded Julia Gwynne as Leila in Iolanthe in February 1883.Miss Gwynne reclaimed Leila in August and Miss Cathcart either returned to the chorus or left the Company.
