Hetty Chapman (1881)

Hetty Chapman's D'Oyly Carte career appears to have been a brief one.She was the Lady Ella with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "D" Company when it was launched on August 1, 1881, to tour the first provincial production of Patience, but in September she was succeeded in the part by Marion May.It was Miss Chapman's only appearance in a D'Oyly Carte program.

She later appeared at the Empire Theatre in the comic opera Dick (1884), at the Coronet Theatre and on tour in the musical farce The Merry-Go-Round (1896), and at the Apollo in the musical comedy Kitty Grey (1901-02).
