Frank C. Clifford served with the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company as a baritone chorister from May 1920 to September 1921. He was married to fellow chorister Beryl Wynter.

Clifford's performing career, both before and after his D'Oyly Carte engagement, involved singing as a member of what were called "concert parties." He later worked as manager of the Majestic Cinema in Wath-upon-Dearne in Yorkshire.
