Patrick Colbert (1923-27)

[Born Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland 20 Nov 1897, died Surbiton, Surrey 18 Jan 1971]

Patrick Colbert was a bass chorister with D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company from January 1923 to September 1927.In February 1925 he succeeded Douglas Kirke as Bob Beckett in H.M.S. Pinafore, appearing as the carpenter's mate for the remainder of his tour with the Company.

Colbert's only post-D'Oyly Carte appearance on the London Stage was as Crecy Charlie in the "musical adventure" The Knight Was Bold (Piccadilly, 1943).
