THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

Louise de Mervale

Louise de Mervale (1897-1901, 1905)

[Died Birmingham 25 Jul 1959]

Louise de Mervale was a chorister at the Savoy for The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein (December 1897-March 1898), The Beauty Stone (May-July 1898), Patience (November 1900-April 1901), and The Emerald Isle (April-November 1901). It seems likely she was also a chorister for the intervening revivals of The Gondoliers, The Sorcerer, H.M.S. Pinafore, and The Pirates of Penzance, and the initial productions of The Lucky Star and The Rose of Persia.

She was married to fellow D'Oyly Carte artist J. Lewis Campion. In 1905, with her husband, she toured as a chorister with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "C" (a repertory company).
