Soprano Beatrix Edwards appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company for the two seasons from September 1951 to August 1953.During her first season, she was one of three singers who played the small part of Fiametta in The Gondoliers, and she also filled in on occasion for Shirley Hall as the Plaintiff in Trial by Jury.During the 1952-53 season she was the regular Lady Ella in Patience and Fiametta in The Gondoliers (from November 1952 onwards), and filled in as Celia in Iolanthe when Cynthia Morey was deputizing as Phyllis. Miss Edwards also replaced Miss Hall as the Plaintiff when that lady left the Company in January 1953.Miss Edwards herself left the D'Oyly Carte in August.

Beatrix Edwards later sang in the chorus with Sadler's Wells Opera. Her sister Wendy appeared with the D'Oyly Carte chorus briefly in 1966.
