THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

George Farrow (1894-96)

[Born c.1870]

George Farrow's first tour with the D'Oyly Carte organization appears to have been as a chorister with Carte's American Utopia Limited Company, in New York and Boston between March and June 1894. He assumed his first named part, Arac in Princess Ida, and probably Tommy Merton in The Vicar of Bray, on tour with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" from October 1895, following the departure of Jones Hewson, until December of that year.Farrow was also with Company "D" from March to July 1896 when the Company played The Grand Duke, though it's unclear if he took any roles.
