Miss Jessie Kathleen Giles was a chorister with D'Oyly Carte's America Gondoliers Company appearing in New York from January to April 1890. Following that tour she returned to D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D", touring in The Gondoliers until July. Beginning in August she toured with the Company in The Mikado and The Yeomen of the Guard. The tour ended in December.

She returned to America in 1891 as a solo artist and made her New York debut at Tony Pastor's Theatre in February 1892, performing as a vocalist on various New York vaudeville stages through the autumn of that year.

She later went into the British music hall and, as Jessie K. Giles, from 1894 to 1898 trod the boards in the United Kingdom as a leading vocalist and comedienne.
