Fred Hughes (1879, 1887-89)

[Born London c.1844]

Fred Hughes was a chorister with at least three D'Oyly Carte companies between 1879 and 1889. From September to December 1879 he toured with Carte's "Second London" Company; he was with a D'Oyly Carte Company that toured Germany, Austria, and Holland from April 1887 to February 1888, and he appeared at the Savoy as one of the citizens in the first production of The Yeomen of the Guard beginning in October 1888. We don't know when he left the Company, but he does not appear to have remained at the Savoy for The Gondoliers in December 1889.
