Ena Mary Martin joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus in July 1929, appearing on regularly as Giulia in The Gondoliers in August and September 1929. She later filled in from time to time as Constance in The Sorcerer (1932-32), the Lady Saphir in Patience (1932), Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen of the Guard (1932-33), Giulia again (1932-33), and Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore (1933-34).

In 1932 she married D'Oyly Carte baritone Richard Walker, and in December 1934 left the Company (giving birth to twin daughters in March 1935). She returned to the chorus in December 1935 but left the Company again in July 1938. She and Walker were divorced in 1939.
