Isa McCusker (1894-95)

Isa McCusker toured with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "E" from December 1894 to May 1895. She appeared as Juanita in Burnand & Sullivan's The Chieftain (February-May 1895) and the Lady Saphir in Patience (May 1895). It appears to have been her only engagement with the D'Oyly Carte organization. Upon her departure, she was replaced in both roles by Emmie Owen.

Shortly thereafter she took up grand opera, appearing at Covent Garden in Tannhauser, Lohengrin, Die Walkure, and Cavalleria Rusticana in October and November 1895. She later returned to Die Walkure at Drury Lane (May 1896), and sang Katrina in Franco Leoni's romantic opera Rip Van Winkle (Her Majesty's Theatre, September-October 1897).
