William Plimmer was a chorister with Mr. D'Oyly Carte's "C" Company in the spring of 1881, Carte's No. 1 "Patience" Company in 1882 and 1883, and No. 1 "Iolanthe" ("F") Company in 1884, Carte's "D" Company (February-May 1885) and "E" Company (May 1885-December 1887). His moves can be traced through press reports of Company cricket matches.
