Patricia Rea (1975-79)

Soprano Patricia Rea was known as Patricia Elliott when she joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company chorus in September 1975. During the 1976-77 season she adopted Rea as her stage name, deputized on occasion as Casilda in The Gondoliers, and assumed the small part of Chloe in Princess Ida upon Glynis Prendergast's departure in July 1977. In 1977-78 she was the regular Chloe and also filled in from time to time as Fleta in Iolanthe. During the 1978-79 season she once more filled in as Fleta. She left in February 1979, but returned the following month playing Casilda as a guest artist in March and April.
