Norma Russell (1906-07)

Norma Russell first appeared with the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company in 1906, succeeding Ellen Whyte as Inez in The Gondoliers and understudy to principal contralto Therea Rassam in November of that year. She played Inez until July 1907, while filling in on occasion for Miss Rassam as the Lady Jane in Patience, the Queen of the Fairies in Iolanthe, and the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers.
