Contralto Aline Sinclair joined the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company as a chorister in April 1946. She served until June 1930, periodically playing the small principal role of Inez in The Gondoliers (August 1924-December 1925 and July 1928- June 1929). She also deputized on occasion as the Queen of the Fairies in Iolanthe (January 1922), Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance (1924-25), Katisha in The Mikado (probably November 1924), and the Lady Jane in Patience, Dame Hannah in Ruddigore, Dame Carruthers in The Yeomen of the Guard, and the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers (all 1925-26).
