THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

(Mr.) Snyder (1880)

When D'Oyly Carte's Second America The Pirates of Penzance Company in Philadelphia launched two weeks of H.M.S. Pinafore April 12, 1880, a Mr. Snyder (presumably a chorister in Pirates) was given the part of carpenter's mate Bob Beckett. By the time the Company arrived in Baltimore on April 26, however, the role had been assumed by another singer, Mr. H. Munn.
