Jerome Stephens (1923-27)

Jerome Stephens, whose real first name was Jeremiah, served in the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Opera Company chorus from July 1923 until June 1927. Later that year he appeared in as a juryman in Trial by Jury in the Courtice Pounds Tribute Fund Matinee (His Majesty's, December 1927).

Stephens returned to the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in August 1949, taking over the duties of Stage Manager from the departing Robert A. Gibson. Stephens would serve as Stage Manager until his retirement in July 1961. He was married to long-time D'Oyly Carte chorister Sibylle Thomas.
