Frank Talbot (1877-78)

Frank Talbot was a presumably a chorister with the Comedy Opera Company Ltd. at the Opera Comique for at least portions of the initial runs of The Sorcerer and H.M.S. Pinafore. His first role was the Lord Chamberlain in James Albery and Alfred Cellier's companion piece The Spectre Knight, assuming the part in February or March 1878 from Rutland Barrington. He also played the Lord Chamberlain when The Spectre Knight was performed with Pinafore between May and August 1878. Talbot was the Foreman of the Jury when Trial by Jury played with The Sorcerer from March to May 1878, created the silent role of the Sergeant of Marines in H.M.S. Pinafore in May 1878, and filled in on occasion for Richard Temple as Dick Deadeye in June of that year. Talbot played the Sergeant of Marines at least through October 1878.
