THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

(Mr.) J. Truscott (1897-98)

Mr. J. Truscott made what may have been his London Stage debut as a chorister in a comic opera called The Little Genius (Shaftesbury, July-November 1896). It was his only recorded experience on the London Stage.

He later joined D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "B," recently returned from South Africa, and toured Great Britain with them from August 1897 to at least February 1898. That month he filled in for a time as the Defendant in Trial by Jury.
