Lindsay Harman was a member of various D'Oyly Carte companies from 1890 to 1901, serving in the chorus as well as playing small parts and understuding several roles. He visited the States on two occasions: as a member of the Gondoliers company in 1890 and as a member of the Utopia, Limited company in 1894.

He wrote this book of reminiscences in 1924.
