No. 12 - Duet - Estelle and Jotte - "Toddle along."

MIDI File

Jotte: When a fellow goes out walking
With a dear delightful pet,
Estelle: He goes out for exercise,
Jotte: She, for anything she can get!
Estelle: Jay's and Peter Robinson's
I think quite divine,
Jotte: I'm content with Salmon and Gluckystein.
Both: Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Jotte: Promise not to stop at ev'ry shop you see,
Like a dear good little soul.
Estelle: That's a charming hat-- so cheap,
They must have priced it wrong!
Jotte: I rather think it's coming on to rain, my dear,
So toddle...
Estelle   Toddle...
Both:     along!
  Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Jotte: Promise not to stop at ev'ry shop you see,
Like a dear good little soul.
Estelle: That's a charming hat — so cheap,
They must have priced it wrong!
Jotte: I rather think it's coming on to rain, my dear,
So toddle...
Estelle:   Toddle...
Both:     along!

Jotte: When a noble lord and lady
In the street go walking out,
Estelle: He won't wear his coronet,
Jotte: No, it's probably up the spout.
Estelle: While her silken petticoats
Swish along Pall Mall,
Jotte: This silk swish which witches each watching swell.
Both: Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Estelle: What is this ferocious looking dog I see,
Like a mildewed sausage roll?
Jotte: That's a priceless Pekinese,
I brought him from Hong Kong;
The dam' thing's got run over by a motor bus,
So toddle...
Estelle:   Toddle...
Both:     along!
  Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Estelle: What is this ferocious looking dog I see,
Like a mildewed sausage roll?
Jotte: That's a priceless Pekinese,
I brought him from Hong Kong;
The dam' thing's got run over by a motor bus,
  So toddle...
Estelle:   Toddle...
Both:     along!

Jotte: When a sailor goes out walking,
Good old Jack must have his Jill,
Estelle: He has sailed the ocean wide —
Jotte: And his trousers are wider still.
Estelle: Hoist your top'sle spinnaker,
Three tacks to port then steer;
Jotte: Tacks to port!
There's quite enough tax to beer!
Both: Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Jotte: When a sailor's been upon the rolling sea,
Well, he's rather on the roll.
Estelle: Hitches up his breeches, so,
Round his ong bong pong;
Jotte: The stormy winds are blowing round the spanker boom,
So toddle..
Estelle:   Toddle...
Both:     along!
  Won't you take a walk with me?
Won't you take a stroll?
Jotte: When a sailor's been upon the rolling sea,
Well, he's rather on the roll.
Estelle: Hitches up his breeches, so,
Round his ong bong pong;
Jotte: The stormy winds are blowing round the spanker boom,
So toddle...
Estelle:   Toddle...
Both:     along!
