No. 12 - Trio - Algernon, Apthorpe and Carbonnet - "Come Along"

MIDI File

Algernon: Now won't you come along with us and have a jolly lark
If some of you refuse it will be awfully unfair of you
Of course we'll bring you home again before it's getting dark
We'll buy you heaps of chocolates and take a lot of care of you
Apthorpe: We'll hunt the shops of Paris for the daintiest of gloves
We'll purchase you perfumery enough to scent a family
Carbonnet: And then we will return you with our compliments and loves
In excellent condition to your charming Madame Amelie.
All: Then come,
Then come, little girls, come along, come along!
If it isn't very right, yet it isn't very wrong
You may suffer for your folly
But a holiday is jolly
So come, come along, come along!
Yes, come, little girls, come along, come along!
If it isn't very right, yet it isn't very wrong
You may suffer for your folly
But a holiday is jolly
So come, come along, come along!

Algernon: We'll wear the gayest buttonholes and try to look as smart
As decent fellows ought to in a pretty girl's society
Carbonnet: We'll trot you round the studios and show you modern art
But always with a due regard for maidenly propriety
Apthorpe: We'll show you lots of things to give you pleasure and surprise
In fact, we'll take you ev'rywhere, and long before we're done with you
Algernon: You'll open rather widely your respective pairs of eyes
Oh, won't we make a day of it, and won't we have some fun with you!
All: Then come,
Then come, little girls, come along, come along!
If it isn't very right, yet it isn't very wrong
You may suffer for your folly
But a holiday is jolly
So come, come along, come along!
Yes, come, little girls, come along, come along!
If it isn't very right, yet it isn't very wrong
You may suffer for your folly
But a holiday is jolly
So come, come along, come along!
